Little wonder that Clarion exterior speakers are so popular on the patio, hot tub or powerboat. Clarion exterior speakers are available in a standard 6.5” or oversized 7.7” diameter size. The advantage of the larger cone is significant. Sound is created by moving air, and more air must be moved to produce lower notes. The surface area of the 7 series speaker is 37% greater than the standard speaker. The result is improved mid-bass response and louder volume capacity – an effect that is especially important in a system that does not include a subwoofer. Component Speakers A component speaker is designed with separate tweeters and midrange speakers. High and mid-low frequencies are directed to each component respectively. The dome-shaped, titanium-coated tweeters disperse the directional high frequencies into a wider pattern that complements the more diffuse mid-low frequencies. The result is a brilliant blending of sounds designed for outdoor living and listening.

Coaxial Speakers Coaxials function as two independent speakers in one space-saving design. High frequency duties are efficiently handled by a center-mounted, titanium-coated dome tweeter that reproduces upper notes with brilliance and definition. The rigid polypropylene woofer cone, combined with a flexible Santoprene™ rubber surround, handles all of the mid-bass through midrange frequencies. The end result is pleasing, balanced, full-spectrum sound.
