A power amplifier is an essential component to an outdoor sound system because it enables the audio system to play at a louder volume without audible distortion. The result is clear and vibrant sound at volume levels that overpower ambient open-air, wind and engine noise. Clarion offers two marine power amplifiers, each with a conformal coated double sided PCB and a non-corrosive heat sink for lasting durability and performance. Each power amplifier has been designed for unique applications. The APX490M Marine Power Amplifier is very flexible in its applications. The crossovers and gain controls are fully adjustable to accommodate virtually any model of speakers or source unit. The APX490M produces 720 watts maximum power in 4, 3 and 2-channel configurations. It can be used to power up to 8 speakers, or 4 speakers with a subwoofer, as well as other speaker combinations. Clarion's APX290M Marine Power Amplifier is the 2-channel equivalent of the APX490M. It has all the same quality, features and flexibility, but is rated at 360 watts maximum power in 2 and 1-channel configurations. Like its counterpart, this power amplifier features variable high/low electronic crossovers, which permit specific frequencies to be sent to speakers that best handle them. |
